Moldovan president congratulates sportspeople on best international results in country's history

Chisinau, 20 December /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today participated in the Sports Gala, during which she celebrated the outstanding achievements from this year along with sportspeople of Moldova. Moldovan champions shined at the Paris Olympic Games, where they got a silver medal and three bronze medals and at the Paralympic Games, where they won one silver and one bronze medals, the presidential press service has reported.    

„This year, Moldovan sportspeople got 730 medals at international competitions – most of all in the country’s history. They became heroes and models to be followed for more children and young people, as well as ambassadors of our national values,’’ President Maia Sandu said.   

The head of state congratulated the sportspeople on the extraordinary results and thanked the teams which are behind each sportsperson and the families who back them unconditionally. ‘’The sports unites us and makes us stronger. Congratulations, our dear champions!’’ the Moldovan president added.
