Moldovan government approves decision on rise in minimum salary at financially autonomous institutions

Chisinau, 20 April /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet approved a decision on the change of the minimum guaranteed quantum of the salary in the real sector at a today’s meeting, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
The document provides for the increase of the minimum wage at enterprises, organisations and institutions with financial autonomy, regardless of the legal organisation form, from 1,900 to 2,100 lei, starting from 1 May 2016. The change comes following an increase in the consumer prices index and the rate of increase of the labour productivity nationally.
Also at the today’s meeting, the cabinet approved a legislative initiative on the completion of the Law No 335-XVI from 23 December 2005 on the wage payment system in the budgetary sector. Thus, the salaries of some categories of employees of archives, who receive less than 1,500 lei, will be increased by 20 per cent.
To carry out the new regulation, additional resources worth 128,520 lei will be yearly earmarked from the state budget. The amendments to the aforementioned law will enter into force after considered and approved by parliament.
