Moldovan specialists trained in ammunition carriage

Chisinau, 21 April /MOLDPRES/ - Representatives of Moldovan power-fielding forces on 18-22 April participate in a training course in ammunition’s carriage in safety conditions. The event is organised by the Defence Ministry, in cooperation with the OSCE Mission to Moldova.
A General Staff official, lieutenant-colonel Andrei Camerzan said that, within the course, officers and non-commissioners officers of the National Army, Justice Ministry, Carabineers Troops Department and Border Police study the technology of security of ammunitions’ transportation, anti-fire security when transporting and manipulating ammunitions, as well as actions when extinguishing fires in emergency situations.
The participants in the course are trained by a group of National Army servicemen, earlier trained by experts from Switzerland and Germany.
The course in the ammunitions’ transportation field in safety conditions is part of a project on training in the area of managing stocks of armament and ammunitions. The course is organised in the context of a memorandum of understanding between the Defence Ministry and OSCE on enforcing a comprehensive programme in the field of small arms and light weapons, as well as conventional arms in Moldova, signed in 2010.
