Chisinau, 21 April /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip, on a working visit to the Glodeni visit, today went to an agricultural enterprise from the Petrunea village, which producers ecologically safe fruits and vegetables according to the latest technologies in the sector, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.

”Moldova is a country with traditions in agriculture, therefore, I believe that our competitive element must be identified namely in this sector. Moreover, by promotion of small, niche businesses in agriculture, we will stimulate entrepreneurship locally and economic development regionally. We provided a special chapter on earmarking financial resources for the support of ecologically safe products in the draft regulation on subsidizing farmers for 2016,” Pavel Filip said at a meeting with farmers.

In discussions with Petrunea village residents, the prime minister tackled subjects on actions backing the rural entrepreneurship by the government, connecting the settlement to the nearby gas pipeline, as well as modernising the present communications infrastructure. The prime minister gave assurances that, along with the competent ministers and local public administration representatives, he would analyse this issue and would come up with solutions.

The Agdav agricultural enterprise has about 650 hectares of farmland and three hectares of apple orchards, which they cultivate by ecologically safe ways, fully giving up chemical products. In 2007, the enterprise benefited from financial support to do business through International Fund for Agricultural Development.
