Moldovan president meets Lithuanian foreign minister

Chisinau, 27 April /MOLDPRES/-President Nicolae Timofti met Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Antanas Linkevičius, at the state residence today, the presidency’s press service has reported.
During the meeting, Timofti praised the quality of the bilateral political dialogue and Lithuania’s support for Moldova’s EU integration course.
The Moldovan president thanked the Lithuanian government for keeping Moldova on the list of seven priority states that benefit from development aid.
“We praise the importance of continuing the works of the Moldovan-Lithuanian commission for EU integration and count on Lithuania’s further support in the implementation of Moldova-EU Association Agreement. I also voice my conviction that our government will solve the arrears as soon as possible,” Timofti noted.
“We praise Moldova’s latest positive results and we are looking forward to new ones. Moldova must implement reforms in the justice field and other sectors, in order to benefit from EU’s further support,” Linkevičius said.
During his visit to Moldova, the Lithuanian official will also hold meetings with Prime Minister Pavel Filip, Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu, Foreign and European Integration Minister Andrei Galbur and other officials.
