Chisinau, 27 April /MOLDPRES/-The cabinet today approved the resignation letter submitted by the head of the National Office of Social Insurance (CNAS), Maria Borta.
Prime Minister Pavel Filip said that in fact, he had demanded the resignation of the CNAS head, as 36 thousand pensioners were left with smaller pensions after being indexed by ten per cent. “It is unacceptable that social rights be diminished by even one leu. All of those with the same attitude towards drafting governmental documents, draft laws and decisions, without taking into account their impact, will not last for too long,” Filip said.
The prime minister said he was forced to come up with a “draft law to correct that mistake, after the society had reacted to it”.
During its last week meeting, the cabinet decided that more than 35.8 thousand pensioners, whose pensions reached a bit more than 1,500 lei after indexations and thus lost their right to financial state aid, will be further entitled to it.
Also today, the cabinet dismissed Marin Ciobanu from the position of main administrator of Balti Free Economic Zone. “We want to put emphasis on efficiency and the concerns of the free economic zone’s residents. We should make less politics and more management of the free economic zone,” Deputy Prime Minister, Economics Minister Octavian Calmic said.
