Moldovan premier, Lithuanian foreign minister discuss bilateral cooperation

Chisinau, 27 April /MOLDPRES/-Prime Minister Pavel Filip held a meeting with Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Linkevicius today. The officials discussed the enforcement of the association agenda and its results, implementation of reforms in the justice and financial-banking sectors, as well as Moldova’s cooperation with its development partners, the government’s communication and press relations department has reported.

The prime minister emphasized the ascending development of political and economic bilateral ties, reiterating Moldovan top authorities’ interest in fully turning the bilateral cooperation potential to good account. The Moldovan-Lithuanian commission for EU integration is a good platform to this effect. In this context, the Lithuanian foreign minister said the next meeting of the commission could take place in Chisinau in the autumn of 2016.

During the meeting, Filip noted that the enforcement of the national plan on the implementation of the EU Association Agreement was further a strategic priority for Moldova.

He also highlighted the constant efforts the new cabinet was taking to solve all of the long-lasting arrears as soon as possible, as well as its consistent and efficient actions to fully restore the confidence of Moldova’s development partners.

For his part, Linkevicius praised the efforts of the Moldovan government to enforce the EU agenda, assuring that Lithuania would further provide it with support and assistance in the implementation of reforms.
