Chisinau, 11 May /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip, at a today’s cabinet meeting, demanded that the director of the National Statistics Bureau (BNS) unveils clear-cut explanations on the 2014 population census or otherwise to render resignation.
“I demanded an inquiry at the National Statistics Bureau on the census. The result was presented me. This is a nice poem, yet absolutely sterile, from which I cannot draw absolutely no conclusion, no concrete proposal and no concrete result,” the prime minister said.
At the same time, Pavel Filip doubted the truthfulness of the data unveiled. “We earmarked 78.5 million lei to hold the census and an additional eight million lei to carry the data processing through. Specialists of the field told me that the census cannot have error margin, and so we do not know how truthful the presented data will be,” the PM noted. Filip specified that he had earlier demanded that the preliminary data be presented in a month time. This notwithstanding, it has not been unveiled so far either.
The prime minister asked the colleagues to convey to BNS director Marin Gospodarenco, who did not attend the cabinet meeting, that he was expecting preliminary data and clear-cut explanations during three days. Otherwise, the BNS head may render resignation.
