Moldova to benefit from technical support from WTO member states to facilitate international trade

Chisinau, 11 May /MOLDPRES/- The cabinet approved a draft law on accepting a protocol for amending the Marrakesh agreement establishing the World Trade Organisation, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
The document includes a set of measures to facilitate the regional and international trade by reducing administrative, tariff and non-tariff barriers. Under the provisions of the protocol, the WTO member states underway will be able to benefit from technical support in order to implement them.
At the national level, the national committee on trade facilitation will be responsible for implementing and coordinating the enforcement of the agreement's provisions. The committee is made up of representatives of the Economics Ministry, Agriculture and Food Ministry, National Agency for Food Safety and business environment. It is to be set up till completing the procedures for adopting the legislative act.
A number of 162 member states of WTO concluded negotiations on Trade Facilitation Agreement within the ninth ministerial conference of WTO held in in Balti in 2013.The ministers asked the general council to adopt a protocol inserting the agreement with Annex 1A to the Marrakesh agreement establishing WTO. The document comprises three sections including provisions to speed up the movement of goods, as well as provisions on supporting the countries underway for enforcing the agreement’s provisions.
