Moldovan parliament to mark Europe Day

Chisinau, 12 May /MOLDPRES/- The parliament will mark Europe Day by a string of actions, due on 13 May, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
The programme will start at 9:30 with an exhibition "Europa prin ochii copiilor" (Europe through the eyes of children), inaugurated in the parliament’s hall. The exhibition will comprise drawings made by children from different settlements of Moldova. Twelve best children’s drawings will be included in a calendar of parliament dedicated to Europe Day. The exhibition will be opened by Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu and Head of the EU Delegation to Moldova Pirkka Tapiola.
At 10:00, the parliament will hold a plenary meeting with participation of ambassadors of diplomatic missions and international organizations from Moldova. The event will open with messages on Europe Day, and a video spot will be presented as regards Moldovans’ expectations from EU. Starting from 21:00, a light show will be organized. The parliament’s building will be enlightened in the colors of the EU flag and tricolor.
“The European Union means a better future for all citizens of Moldova, and Europe Day is a holiday representing unity and prosperity, freedom and democracy, diversity and equality. Moldova has to continue European path and to become a part of European family”, Candu said.
