New local elections of mayors from two Moldovan settlements to be held on 15 May

Chisinau, 13 May /MOLDPRES/- The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) today informed that new local elections of mayors would be held in Ochiul Ros, central Anenii Noi district, and Sarata Galbena, Hincesti district, on 15 May.

“In Ochiul Ros village, a polling station was set up and 346 voters will participate in the elections there. In Sarata Galbena village, five polling stations were opened, with 4,436 voters registered on the electoral lists. Four competitors run for the mayor office in Ochiul Ros village, and five – for the one in Sarata Galbena”, a press release by CEC reads.

Over 137,000 lei was earmarked from the state budget to organize and hold local elections in the two settlements.

The mandate of mayor from Sarata Galbena ceased before term ,as it is incompatible with MP post, and the mayor from Ochiul Ros village resigned on health grounds.
