Exhibition of Hungarian porcelain inaugurated at Moldovan National History Museum

Chisinau, 13 May /MOLDPRES/ - The National History Museum of Moldova, in cooperation with the Embassy of Hungary in Moldova and Herend Porcelain Manufactory, today organised an exhibition-event titled, Herend Brilliance, within the International Museum Day.
The event took place under the high patronage of Moldova’s Culture Ministry.
The exhibition comprises a valuable selection of handmade unique objects, which are part of the Hungarian cultural heritage. The vast collection that was brought to Chisinau provides a suggestive comprehensive picture of the techniques and technologies specific to the art of processing porcelain in Herend. Over 600 exhibits were displayed in all.
In his speech, Hungarian Ambassador to Moldova Mátyás Szilágyi said that the inauguration of the exclusive porcelain exhibition, Herend Brilliance, - of the world’s biggest porcelain factory, Herend Manufactory from Hungary – was an outstanding event.
According to the Hungarian official, following the organisation of exhibitions at the Moscow-based Kremlin, Tsarskoye Selo, Russia, Fukuyama, Japan, Ariana Musee from Switzerland, International Porcelain Museum from Hohenberg, Subotica, Vienna, Cluj-Napoca, Palace of Slovakia, Bratislava-based National Museum, now, the exhibition is presented in the Moldovan capital for the first time ever.
“Herend is the symbol of handmade art, perfection, tradition and innovation. Starting from 2001, the Herend Manufactory has been part of the Hungarian heritage. The Herend brand has become the synonym of quality, luxury and elegance. The exhibition is, in fact, an original collection. So far, the public has not been given possibility to meet Herend porcelain in such an exclusive range in terms of value and quantity,” Ambassador Mátyás Szilágyi said.
For her part, Culture Minister Monica Babuc thanked the Hungarian official for having brought this unique exhibition to Moldova.
The exhibition will be opened till 10 July.
