Moldovan government to organise more events dedicated to Europe Day

Chisinau, 13 May /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet on 14 May will organise a string of events dedicated to Europe Day 2016, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
Thus, a tent of Moldova’s government will be set in the European Town from the Stefan cel Mare public garden. Informative materials on projects carried out in Moldova with the support of European partners in diverse sectors will be displayed in this tent. Representatives of more ministries and other public institutions will provide information and advertising materials on opportunities of education, research and other development fields within European Union’s programmes.
Prime Minister Pavel Filip and other cabinet members will participate in the official inauguration of the European Town in the Stefan cel mare public garden at 13:00.
Also, on the occasion of Europe Day, the Youth and Sport Ministry, jointly with the Interior Ministry, Health Ministry and Chisinau city hall, will organise a cycling race dedicated to Europe Day on 14 May beginning with 9:50. The race will start on the Europe Square from Chisinau (nearby the Classics’ Alley) and the itinerary will comprise over 20 streets from the capital.
Young people from the chamber choir Rapsodia of Chisinau are to sing on the main stage of the European Town, at an initiative by the Foreign and European Integration Ministry.
Also on 14 May starting from 9:00, a national contest titled, The best pupil innovator Genius, will take place at the headquarters of the Lyceum of the Academy of Sciences. A ceremony on awarding the winner of the 2016 issue of the contest will be held at 11:30. Attending the event will also be Prime Minister Pavel Filip.
Sketches of mural paintings for the most successful work on the Europe Day subject, within of a street-art contest, organised in Moldova for the first time ever, will be presented on 14 May as well.
The contest is organised by the Foreign and European Integration Ministry, in cooperation with the Italian Embassy, EU Delegation and other partners, in order to promote the mural art, young artists acting in this field, as well as for renovating the urban spaces of the city in the style of the EU member states’ capitals.
