Chinese energy corporation interested in implementing investment projects in Moldova

Chisinau, 18 May /MOLDPRES/- A State Energy Corporation from China has announced it was interested in implementing investment projects on energy market of Moldova, including those related to producing renewable, wind, solar energy etc. Deputy Head of the Chinese corporation Xie Jiajie made the statement at a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister, Economics Minister Octavian Calmic held on 17 May.
Calmic said given that Moldova had limited sources of electricity supply, “we are willing to create prerequisites to implement different projects on producing alternative electricity”. At the same time, he pointed out that the works were to be implemented “only after feasibility studies, which will set concrete criteria for carrying out projects”.
At the end of talks, Calmic and Jiajie agreed that a pre-feasibility study on initiating new projects for producing electrical and thermal energy in Moldova should be carried out through joint efforts by late 2016, the Economics Ministry’s press service noted.
