Moldovan deputy foreign minister participates in conference on trade and investments in Berlin

Chisinau, 18 May /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Lilian Darii attends the Conference “Connectivity for Commerce and Investment” that is held on 18-19 May in the German capital under the aegis of the German Chairmanship of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), the Foreign and European Integration Ministry's information and media communication department has reported. 

Representatives from politics, economy and civil society from different regions and economic systems of the OSCE area came together for this business conference. They explore trade and investment opportunities in the OSCE area as a means to strengthen economic ties from Vancouver to Vladivostok. Participants also discuss topics of economic connectivity such as infrastructure projects, transport corridors, trade, energy safety and digital connectivity.

Within the frameworks of the session devoted to the implementation of the provisions of the free trade area with the EU in the Transnistrian region of the Republic of Moldova, Deputy Minister Darii reaffirmed the Republic of Moldova’s interest in ensuring necessary conditions for the business community of the region to fully benefit from the advantages offered by the free trade regime with the EU member states. He appreciated the efforts of the development partners in implementing this trade instrument through the whole territory of the Republic of Moldova, reiterating the commitment of the central authorities in Chisinau to continue with confidence building between the population form both banks of Dniester river.
