Moldovan cabinet approves draft law on organising Courts Management Agency

Chisinau, 18 May /MOLDPRES/- The government approved a draft law on organising and functioning of Courts Management Agency, the government's communication and media relations department has reported.
The institution is meant to back the good activity of the judiciary system from Moldova and to consolidate its autonomy. The agency will be created on the basis of reorganisation of the Legal Management Department within the Justice Ministry and will ensure organisational activity of courts, will keep track and analyze judicial statistics and will develop judiciary information system. At the same time, the newly-formed institution will manage the activity of training law courts staff and will ensure the financial management, control and internal audit of the courts.
Also, the agency will facilitate using and improving the integrated programme on case management, which allows electronic management of court cases and audio recording system of the court sessions in order to ensure protection of recorded data.
The organisation of the agency is part of the commitments assumed by the government in reforming justice in Moldova.
