Moldova to attend meetings of monitoring institutions of Association Agreement

Chisinau, 19 May /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Pavel Filip chaired a weekly meeting of the governmental commission for European integration on 18 May. It was focused on the level of preparation of Moldovan authorities for a meeting of the EU-Moldova joint committee for implementing Agreement on Common Aviation Area and for Cluster V on agriculture and rural development, fisheries and maritime policy, regional development, cross border and regional cooperation, the government’s cooperation and media relations department has reported.
The participants in the meeting considered reports unveiled by the Transport and Road Infrastructure Ministry and Civil Aviation Authority on the level of meeting the commitments assumed in accordance with the Agreement on Common Aviation Area with EU, taking into account that on 25 May 2016, the fourth annual meeting of the EU-Moldova joint committee would be held in Brussels, where Moldova is to report the evolutions recorded in summer 2015 in transposing the Community acquis in the field of civil aviation.
Also, they considered a report by the Agriculture and Food Ministry on preparation for meeting Cluster V on agriculture and rural development, fisheries and maritime policy, regional development, cross border and regional cooperation, within the EU-Moldova sub-committee on economy, social and sectorial issues. Being the first meeting of the respective format, it represents opportunity for Moldova to turn to good account the form of dialogue with EU, especially, taking into account that less traditional topics, such as: maritime policy and fisheries will be approached.
Filip asked the relevant institutions to ensure the preparation at the highest level for the mentioned events, which would facilitate the upward development of the EU-Moldovan relations in the next period.
