Moldovan foreign minister meets European Parliament delegation to Moldova-EU Parliamentary Association Committee

Chisinau, 19 May /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Andrei Galbur today met MEPs Andi Cristea. Michal Boni, Norica Nicolai and Petras Auštrevičius, on a visit to Moldova to participate in the second meeting of the Moldova – European Union Parliamentary Association Committee, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media communication service has reported.
The sides exchanged opinions on the Moldova-EU cooperation and reviewed the achievements in implementing the Association Agreement and the Roadmap on the priority reforms’ agenda. On this occasion, Minister Andrei Galbur reiterated gratitude for the European Parliament’s support provided to Moldova to promote the country’s modernisation process.
The members of the European Parliament’s Delegation to the Moldova-EU Parliamentary Association Committee expressed determination to further back Moldova on its way of reformation. They also encouraged the authorities to maintain the pace of implementation of the commitments provided for in the Association Agreement with EU.
Also, the sides highlighted the importance of the parliamentary dimension in ensuring the enforcement of the Association Agreement. The Moldovan foreign minister thanked the MEPs for keeping Moldova on the list of priority countries of the European Parliament for providing democratic support in 2016.
