Moldovan State Chancelery to be reformed

Chisinau, 19 May /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip today had a meeting with representatives of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Ernst&Young Company from Latvia, who started carrying out an institutional and functional analysis of the State Chancellery of the Office of Prime Minister, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
Pavel Filip stressed the importance of the assessment, which fits into the chain of activities in the context of launching the Public Administration Reform (RAP). The prime minister highlighted also the recommendations presented in the report on assessing the Public Administration of Moldova, developed within the Support for Improvement in Governance and Management (SIGMA) project.
The PM expressed confidence that this cooperation would help achieve the common goal of strengthening the role of the State Chancellery in its capacity of Centre of the Government, and will also improve and rationalize the intra and inter-institutional operational and decision-taking processes.
For her part, the team leader of the Ernst&Young Company, Daina Belicka, referred to the activities due to be undertaken within the assessment exercise. She said that special attention would be paid to the functionality and cooperation between the Office of the Prime Minister and the State Chancellery.
