Chisinau, 22 May /MOLDPRES/ - The No Fear march, organized today in the centre of Chisinau by LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender), was held with incidents.
The event started outside the UNIC department store and was to end on the Great National Assembly Square. Yet, in a short time, the demonstrators were attacked by priests and parishioners, who promote values of the traditional family. Subsequently, the police formed a cordon between the two groups and the participants in the march were got onboard of coaches and carried away.
The No Fear march was organized in Chisinau today, in order to raise the awareness of the society about the rights of the LGBT persons from Moldova. The march took place in silence, given that, as the organisers put it ‘’in silence, we can hear the fear of any kind, and the freedom begins from inside: when we overcome the fear, we become free.”
The participants in the solidarity march bore white jerseys, with the campaign’s logo, ‘’Fara Frica’’ (No Fear).
The event, authorized by the Chisinau city hall, was held for the fourth time.
