Moldovan government declares for turning to good account potential of economic cooperation with Hungary

Chisinau, 23 May /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip today had a meeting with Hungarian Ambassador to Moldova Mátyás Szilágyi. The two officials discussed the developments of the bilateral relations and prospects for their development in diverse fields, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.   

Prime Minister Pavel Filip thanked and stressed the importance of the support provided by Hungary to Moldova to implement development projects. Also, the prime minister appreciated the support of Hungary offered to young Moldovans through programmes of education scholarships.   

The prime minister declared for extending the bilateral cooperation and turning to good account the potential of cooperation in the economic and investments sectors. In this context, Pavel Filip referred to the measures undertaken by the governmental team to ensure an attractive business climate, as well as to promote the public administration reform in Moldova.   

For his part, the Hungarian ambassador reiterated the support of his country for Moldova’s European integration and the interest in boosting the Moldovan-Hungarian ties in all areas of cooperation. In the context, Mátyás Szilágyi expressed confidence that the next meeting of the Moldovan-Hungarian inter-governmental commission for commercial and economic cooperation, due in Budapest on 23 June 2016, would create a friendly basis for the further support of investment projects in Moldova, as well as for continuing the traditions of social and cultural cooperation between the two states. Mátyás Szilágyi also referred to a recent visit to Hungary by Culture Minister Monica Babuc, which he described as very productive.       

Since the establishment of the diplomatic relations between the two countries on 16 January 1992, Hungary has been constantly providing assistance in important fields, such as European integration, justice, agriculture, infrastructure, transport, tourism, environmental protection and other sectors.
