The modernisation of the Costesti water-purifying station is part of a pilot project on improving the water and sewerage supply services in the Riscani district. The project is implemented by the North Regional Development Agency (ADR Nord) with sources provided by the government of Germany through the German Agency for International Cooperation.

Over six million lei is planned to be spent for the reconstruction and modernisation of the Costesti station. So far, almost 21 million lei has been invested within the project supported by German partners.

According to ADR Nord, the quality of sewerage services, provided to the 2,200 residents of the Costesti town, as well as of the ones from the Duruitoarea Veche village, will improve following the restoration of the water-purifying station.
