Water-purifying station from north Moldova to be modernised with German government's support

Chisinau, 25 May /MOLDPRES/ -A station for purifying residual waters from the Costesti town, northern Riscani district, will be restored within a project backed by the German government. The reconstruction works started on 24 May and are to be completed during five months.
The modernisation of the Costesti water-purifying station is part of a pilot project on improving the water and sewerage supply services in the Riscani district. The project is implemented by the North Regional Development Agency (ADR Nord) with sources provided by the government of Germany through the German Agency for International Cooperation.
Over six million lei is planned to be spent for the reconstruction and modernisation of the Costesti station. So far, almost 21 million lei has been invested within the project supported by German partners.
According to ADR Nord, the quality of sewerage services, provided to the 2,200 residents of the Costesti town, as well as of the ones from the Duruitoarea Veche village, will improve following the restoration of the water-purifying station. At the same time, measures of efficient purification of residual waters will be provided, which will prevent pollution of soil and the Prut river.
