Runoff local elections to be held in central Moldovan settlement

Chisinau, 27 May /MOLDPRES/ - The runoff polls for electing the mayor of the Sarata-Galbena village, central Hincesti district, will be held on 29 May, the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) said.
According to the CEC press service, the voters will have to choose between two candidates, who picked up most votes in the first round of the polls. It is about a representative of the Democratic Party, who got 996 votes (49.08 per cent) and a candidacy of the Liberal Party, who grabbed 918 votes (45.24 per cent).
Under the Electoral Code, the runoff election takes place with the participation of the electoral bodies in the same composition and based on the same lists.
The mandate of the Sarata-Galbena village mayor ceased, given the incompatibility of his office with the one of lawmaker in Moldovan parliament.
