Chisinau, 27 May /MOLDPRES/ - The Chisinau Buiucani district court today issued warrants of preventive arrest for the five persons detained by the National Anticorruption Centre in the file of the Chisinau city hall

The CNA press service said that all the detained people had been put on  preventive arrest for 10-25 days.

According to judges, “four of the charged persons will be placed at the CNA pretrial detention centre, while one arrested person, with health problems, will be transferred to the Penitentiary No 16,” the CNA press service said.

Two days ago, CNA officers and anti-corruption prosecutors detained five persons, within more criminal files, opened on charges of passive corruption, influence peddling, forgery in public documents and abuse of power, committed by public persons of the Chisinau city hall, state inspectorate in constructions, as well as private persons. It is about a Chisinau deputy mayor, deputy head of the Chisinau city hall’s architecture and town-planning department and two intermediaries.

Preliminary data of the inquiry shows that civil servants of the city hall, by preliminary agreement with intermediaries, would have committed abuses against sums of money, for various services, such as; speeding up processing of acts for final reception of real estate; speeding up issuance of acts for the change of the status of grounds’ zones; processing documents for turning private uninhabitable rooms, etc. Thus, the biggest sum swindled by city hall civil servants, documented by CAN, is 12,000 euros.
