Moldovan southern village elects new mayor

Chisinau, 30 May /MOLDPRES/-The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) today announced the preliminary results of the second runoff voting, to elect the mayor of Sarata Galbena village, Hincesti district, held on 29 May 2016.
According to CEC’s press service, the representative of the Democratic Party (PDM), Lozovoi Mihail was elected in Sarata Galbena village, with 1,225 votes (51.36 per cent), followed by his opponent, Taras Valeriu, representing the Liberal Party (PL), with 1,160 votes (48.64 per cent).
CEC will make public the runoff’s public results after the district electoral council submits all electoral documents in original form.
In relation to his new function of MP in the Moldovan parliament, the mandate of the mayor from Sarata Galbena village has ended ahead of schedule.
