Chisinau, 30 May /MOLDPRES/ - The National Energy Regulatory Agency, following a today’s public meeting, found out that 27 companies on 23 May had increased the prices for fuels with infringements of the legislation.

ANRE also said that the increase in prices by the oil companies ran counter provisions of the law on oil products market and the methodology of the formation and applying of prices for oil products, approved by the decision of the ANRE Administrative Board from 31 March 2016.

In early last week, the oil companies increased the petrol price by an average of 0.6 lei, and the diesel oil by 1.1 lei. ANRE obliged the licence holders to liquidate the ascertained infringements. The energy authority’s representatives warned that ANRE had right to start the procedure of suspending the licence in case of serious infringements.

Representatives of the companies reproached the Agency that they had not make public the ceiling prices, and so the infringement of the law cannot be invoked. “We cannot close the business, as the concerned amendments have not been made,” the oilmen said.

A note unveiled at the meeting shows that the petrol price dropped, on average, from 16.7 lei in last January to 15.77 lei per one litre in May 2016, and the diesel oil cheapened from 14.33 lei to 13.07 lei per one litre. The Platts prices for petrol changed in the period January-19 May 2016 from 401 to 493 dollars per one ton, and the diesel oil ones – from 283 to 417 dollars per ton. On the other hand, the ARGUS prices decreased from 255 to 212 dollars per one ton.

According to the draft fiscal policy, the excise duties for petrol will increase by 11.38 per cent, and the ones for diesel – by 10.23 per cent.
