Moldovan authorities to take actions to protect children, prevent parents’ immigration risks

Chisinau, 31 May /MOLDPRES/-The cabinet today approved an action plan for 2016-2020 on the implementation of the strategy for the protection of child, the government’s communication and press relations department has reported.
Planned actions aim to prevent family separation and institutionalization of children. Their goal is also to prevent and combat violence, children exploitation, promotion of a conciliation framework of family life and professional activity designed to ensure a harmonious growth of the child.
To this effect, the action plan provides for the creation of specialized departments within territorial social assistance structures, consolidation of their capacities and professional training for staff. It also provides for the implementation of some IT modules on “child protection”, for a better management of each case and efficient monitoring of the tutelary activity.
According to the plan, the normative framework will be improved in order to prevent and combat corruption in the adoption procedure, social payments to orphan children, families with children, inclusive education and specialized support services for children with special needs.
The action plan also provides for the creation of an early day care center (for children aged between 4 months and 1.5 years), as well as specialized early intervention services for children (0-3 years), support services for children with behavioral issues, for street children and recovery services for children who are violence, trafficking or exploitation victims.
The action plan aims to decrease the number of Moldovan institutionalized children, to diminish risks associated to families of emigrants and also to ensure a r family and social environment proper to the harmonious development of children.
