Chisinau, 31 May /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Pavel Filip today met Bucharest-based Spanish Ambassador to Moldova Ramiro Fernández Bachiller, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
The officials tackled the dynamic of the bilateral relations, highlighting the boosting of the political dialogue between Moldova and Spain on the last period, including within the international forums. In the context, Filip underlined the need to foster economic cooperation, development of common investment projects, exchange of experience in terms of implementation of the Association Agreement with EU, justice reform and fighting corruption.
“We hope to further keep and develop this important partnership, to turn to good account the bilateral cooperation potential, to boost business ties and investment projects. We are interested in Spain’s expertise in justice and fight against corruption, as we see efficiency of the National Anti-Corruption Department in Romania, with the model taken over from Spain”, he said.
For his part, Bachiller assured that Spain would back Moldova in the European integration process with expertise and consulting. Also, the official said he would convey messages for encouraging the Spanish and European business community to come up with investments in Moldova.
“We know how important reforms are. Spain has experience of severe reforms in the crisis period, which raised it on the fifth position among the EU countries. Therefore, you can rely on Spain’s support in international organizations in the European integration effort and support in implementing justice and anti-corruption reforms, as well as in carrying out projects on infrastructure, education, tourism, medicine or energy”, the official said.
At the end, the sides agreed on maintaining an active dialogue both for continuing the bilateral relations development and for turning to good account common interests of the two states at European and international levels.
