Moldovan speaker, trainers for master's degree of London-based Royal College discuss challenges faced by Moldova

Chisinau, 31 May /MOLDPRES/ - Challenges faced by Moldova in the European integration process, developments in ensuring regional security and their impact on the country’s security were the main subjects discussed by Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu and trainers for master’s degree of the London-based Royal College of Defence Studies, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
The discussions were focused also on the progress made by Moldova in implementing the Association Agreement with EU, as well as the authorities determination to implement the agenda of priority reforms assumed by Moldova’s citizens and the development partners.
The speaker referred to the legislative priorities for the next period, which include strengthening the country’s financial and banking system, fighting corruption, as well as pressing ahead with the reforms in justice. In this context, Andrian Candu stressed that the concerned priorities were found also in the Roadmap on the priority agenda of reforms, which implies synchronization of the agendas of the parliament and government for implementing the stipulated actions till late next July. At the same time, the speaker reiterated the importance to continue the discussions with the International Monetary Fund and sign a new programme with IMF.
For their part, experts of London-based Royal College of Defence Studies showed interest in the actions undertaken by the authorities to ensure Moldova’s energy security, fighting corruption and situation in the Transnistrian region.
The delegation of the Royal College of Defence Studies from London is made up of military and civilian experts from the UK, Lebanon, Nigeria, Oman, United Arab Emirates, Yemen, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Japan. The London-based Royal College of Defence Studies is a world famous institution, which trains pundits, strategic thinkers and leaders.
