Moldovan president conveys message on International Children's Day

10:45 | 01.06.2016 Category: Official

Chisinau, 1 June /MOLDPRES/ - President Nicolae Timofti today conveyed a message on the occasion of the International Children’s Day, the presidential press service has reported.

The message says:

“The children represent the greatest capital a national can have. And ensuring a happy childhood and the feeling of security is a prestigious task of any society.

The childhood is an oasis of innocence and sincerity. It is a special, miraculous world, which, like a forgotten non-extinguished fire, may shine in us at any time.

Dear children!

I wish you good health, enough reasons to be happy with what we, the adults, offer you, as parents, grandparents or in capacity of officials and country leaders. May you also enjoy paternal love, and those whose fate was different – to never feel the lack of adults’ affectivity and paternal roof.

May you grow up worthy daughters and sons, proud of your country, may you preserve and continue the national traditions.

The authorities’ sacramental duty is to protect the Childhood, so that no negative hero from the tales which the adults sometimes write uninspiredly – Poverty, Robbery, Lie – can steal it from our children and compromise their future. Or, as Franklin D. Roosevelt was saying, “We cannot always build the future for our youth, but we can build our youth for the future.”

Let us take care of the future of our children, the future citizens of the united Europe.

Dear children!

The summer holidays start on 1 June too. I wish all of you joyful holidays, full of energy and emotional adventures, after which you should enter the world of knowledge with enthusiasm.

Congratulations to all children!”
