Moldovan PM meets Olympic kids

Chisinau, 1 June /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Pavel Filip talked to a group of pupils, winners of international and national Olympiads in school subjects and contests in sports and arts, who visited the government on 1 June, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
The premier congratulated the winners on International Children’s Day. “I wish that all your dreams come true, and your projects become reality. At the same time, I want to thank teachers for helping you develop talents, parents for investing in your education and authorities for developing the policy framework needed to have a quality educational system”, he said.
During the discussion, the pupils were interested in the government’s structure, its way of operating and organising, elaboration and promotion of normative documents, as well as development of important sectors for young people.
In the context, the premier underlined that Moldova was a small state as a territory and population, and main wealth were citizens. Thus, the policies promoted by the government are streamlined to develop human capacity, to promote creativity and innovative spirit. “If we manage to identify all talents we have, to use modern technologies in the daily activity and to create tolerant environment, we will have a modern and prosperous country along with the EU states”, he concluded.
The dialogue was very interactive. The pupils easily came into the role of ministers. They highlighted a string of problems important for the entire society, including: providing schools with modern technologies, modernising education system and promoting young talents. At the end of the meeting, the children thanked the premier for openness, performing a song played on the violin.
