Moldovan PM orders creation of commission to elucidate causes of SMURD helicopter’s crash

Chisinau, 2 June /MOLDPRES/-Prime Minister Pavel Filip asked the Civil Protection and Emergency Situations Service, Transports and Roads Infrastructure Ministry, Civil Aviation Authority and Prosecutor General’s Office, to take measures to investigate and elucidate the causes of the helicopter’s crash, near Haragis village, Cantemir district, the government’s communication and press relations department has reported.
During a phone talk with Romanian Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos, Filip conveyed condolences to families and relatives of the crash victims. He assured his Romanian counterpart of Moldovan authorities’ full support for carrying out the actions needed in such situation.
The Moldovan prime minister convened at the government all the authorities in charge of further coordinating the investigation of causes and circumstances of the crash.
A SMURD helicopter crashed in Haragis settlement, Cantemir district today. According to the Civil Protection and Emergency Situations Service, all four crew members- pilote, co-pilot, doctor and the paramedic had died. The SMURD helicopter and medical staff belong to the department from Iasi city.
