Moldovan PM orders to create cooperation agreement between Moldovan and Romanian experts to set causes of plane crash

Chisinau, 2 June /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Pavel Filip has ordered to create a cooperation agreement between Moldovan and Romanian experts on efficient collaboration of specialists in setting the causes of plane crash occurred in Cantemir district.
The premier held an urgent cabinet meeting on aviation tragedy. The meeting started with a minute of silence in the memory of the four persons dead in the accident.
“The crew members lost their life as heroes. I express sincere condolences to families of victims. Tomorrow morning experts from Romania will come to Moldova, I ordered to create a cooperation agreement in order to optimize cooperation of specialists from both banks of the Prut river in setting the exact causes of the tragedy”, Filip said.
Romanian Ambassador to Chisinau Marius Lazurca said that “it is intended that the victims should reach with dignity the families and all conditions should be provided in order that the inquiry to start as soon as possible. It is important for the Romanian side to be able to participate in investigation along with the Moldovan colleagues and to sign a cooperation protocol”, Lazurca said.
Acting Prosecutor General Eduard Harujen said that the victims’ bodies had been recovered and were on the way to Chisinau. “We will decide with the Romanian colleagues if they are examined on the spot or repatriated. A criminal case was opened in Romania too. Tomorrow morning we will examine again the place of the crash. We will create a common team. We will collect evidence and residents’ declarations to set the causes of the plane crash as soon as possible”, he said.
A SMURD helicopter crashed near the village Haragis, Cantemir district. All four crew members: pilot, co-pilot, doctor and paramedic died. The SMURD aircraft and medical staff belonged to the department from Iasi.
