EU to finance projects on modernisation of settlements from two banks of Dniester

Chisinau, 4 June /MOLDPRES/ - A tender has been announced for getting European financial assistance to modernize social institutions or infrastructure from both banks of Dniester. The financial worth 150,000 euros per one project is provided within the European Union’s programme, Support to Confidence Building Measures.
Till March 2018, the programme is set to modernize 30 social infrastructure units. Eleven project proposals will be selected in the present round.
Settlements with a population of more than 1,500 residents may participate in the tender. Priority will be given to projects due to help boost the cooperation between the two banks of Dniester.
The programme, Support to Confidence Building Measures, was launched in Moldova in 2012. It is implemented by the United Nations development programme and financed by EU, which offered 7.5 million euros for social projects carried out on both banks of Dniester.
Over 70 education, medical, culture, sport institutions, community markets, as well as infrastructure objects – roads, water supply, sewerage systems, street illumination, waste management, etc. – have been renovated so far.
