Belarusian PM to pay visit to Moldova

Chisinau, 7 June /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Pavel Filip today met his Belarusian counterpart, Andrey Kobyakov, in Bishkek. The event was held on the occasion of a meeting of heads of government from the CIS member states in the Kyrgyz Republic on 6-7 June, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
The two officials ascertained the positive dynamics of the intergovernmental dialogue, pointing out that there were favorable prerequisites for deepening the bilateral cooperation both at trade and investment levels. In the context, Filip expressed the interest in increasing the delivery of Moldovan goods, especially, the agri-food production on the Belarusian and Eurasian Union market. He stressed the opportunity to maintain a green corridor for the Moldovan perishable goods.
As regards the investment projects, Filip referred to the need to fully turn to good account the capacity of the enterprises for assembling Belarusian trolleybuses and tractors in the perspective of their export to the EU market. Also, he invited the companies from Belarus to participate in carrying out the National Programme on road development in Moldova and to use the port of Giurgiulesti for the export of Belarusian fertilizers to third countries.
For his part, Andrey Kobyakov confirmed the Belarusian side’s interest in dynamising the trade exchanges and continuing cooperation in producing agricultural machinery: tractors and mini combines, as well as trolleybuses. In this context, the official accepted Filip’s invitation to pay a working visit to Moldova by late 2016. On this occasion, a meeting of the intergovernmental joint commission on economic cooperation and a forum of business people from Moldova and Belarus will be held in Chisinau.
Belarus is one of the main economic partners of Moldova. In January-March 2016, the bilateral commerce was estimated at 44.7 million dollars.
