The PG press service also said that, during the first month of work within Prosecutor General’s Office, the adviser would elaborate an action plan, proceeding from the studying of the system and new legislative provisions which regulate the activity of prosecutors. The European expert said that this would allow laying the foundations of the project due to be carried out in 2016. The adviser will monthly work out detailed reports, in which he will show both the results and priorities for future, for a better enforcement of the project and settlement of initiatives on reforming the Prosecutor General’s Office through cooperation.
Aivars Ostapko is the third adviser on behalf of EU to assist PG in the institutional reformation process, after the expiration of the mandates of experts Holger Helmbach and Virginijus Sabutis.
