Chisinau, 8 June /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet of ministers, at a today meeting, approved a decision on earmarking, from the government’s reserve fund, a sum of one million lei for the families of the four members of the crew of the Romanian Mobile Emergency Service for Resuscitation and Extrication (SMURD), who died in an accident which occurred in the southern Cantemir district of Moldova on 2 June, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.

Prime Minister Pavel Filip said that this was a natural gesture, and demanded that the institutions in charge undertake all needed measures, so that this assistance reaches the destination as soon as possible.

At the same time, the PM highlighted that the competent bodies had acted exemplarily, managing to complete the criminal investigation on the SMURD helicopter crash. “We managed to carry out a good mobilization, and this fact was the most proper gesture we could offer in the memory of the SMURD heroes,” the prime minister said.

Pavel Filip also thanked the government of Romania for the assistance provided to Moldova, in continuation, through the SMURD service, and expressed gratitude for this.
