Czech premier impressed by development of Moldovan state information registers

Chisinau, 10 June /MOLDPRES/ - Czech Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka has taken knowledge of the system of processing Moldovan papers during his official visit to Chisinau. The Czech official was accompanied by Prime Minister Pavel Filip at the State Enterprise Centre for State Information Resources “Registru,”( IS CRIS Registru), the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
The officials visited the centre for processing identity papers, where they were informed about the technologies used, information system applied, as well as on the way applications are received and identity papers are issued, which meet the highest international standards. At the same time, the officials had possibility to see the evolution of the identity papers during time, with their samples displayed in the enterprise’s museum.
During the visit, the director of IS CRIS Registru, Sergiu Railean, referred to the successful cooperation between the enterprise and Czech partners. He said that the high-security paper, used to make the documents, was imported from the Czech Republic and the experience of the Czech competent authorities had been consulted when producing matriculation plates for vehicles.
A special subject of the discussions was the Acces web information system, which ensures the interconnection of databases, giving institutions possibility to have access to the needed information in electronic format.
In context, Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka appreciated Moldova’s progress in this field, stressing that the country’s experience might be useful for the Czech Republic. ”The databases were created in parallel in the Czech Republic, just as their digitalization took place. Thus, they work separately and there is no interconnection,” the Czech PM said.
Pavel Filip emphasized that this modern system had facilitated getting the free visa regime with EU for Moldovan citizens. “This is a system meeting all European requirements and standards. Due to it, papers cannot be forged, as their truthfulness is verified with the information from the central database,” Prime Minister Filip added.
The State Enterprise Centre for State Information Resources “Registru,” provides a good work and security of the state information registers and is empowered to issue identity papers for Moldova’s citizens.
