Chisinau, 13 June /MOLDPRES/ - About 200 German and Dutch tourists of the ANESHA-type cruise ship, which accosted in southern Moldova today morning, visited the Valeni village, southern Cahul district.

The press service of the Transports and Roads Infrastructure Ministry specified that this was a novel event in the Giurgiulesti International Passenger and Cargo Port.

The cruise ship’s passengers were met with bread and salt, as well as with a glass of Moldovan wine for each passenger, offered just by Transports and Roads Infrastructure Minister Iurie Chirinciuc, as well as by the leadership of the master’s office of the Giurgiulesti International Port. Subsequently, the guests went to the Valeni settlement, where they took knowledge of the Moldovan popular traditions.

Iurie Chirinciuc said that the entrance of big ships into the Giurgiulesti International Port was due to efforts made to carry out works of cleansing the Prut river. As a result, sea ships were able to navigate on the Prut river.

The Dutch motor cruise ship ANESHA is 135 metres long and has a capacity of 200 persons. It is the second time this year that the vessel enters Moldova, with another six entrances scheduled till 31 December.
