Moldovan deputy premier meets EU Border Assistance Mission head

Chisinau, 14 June /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister Gheorghe Balan today had a meeting with Head of the European Union Border Assistance Mission for Moldova and Ukraine (EUBAM) Andrew Tesoriere, the Bureau for Reintegration has reported.
The dialogue was focused on the latest developments in the process of talks on the Transnistrian settlement, results of the permanent conference on political issues in the Transnistrian settlement process (the five-plus-two negotiations format), recently held in Berlin, Germany, as well as preparations for the Bavarian Conference on confidence building measures in the Transnistrian conflict settlement process, due in next July.
Also, the two officials tackled subjects on the management of the Moldovan-Ukrainian border, from the viewpoint of establishing joint control over the central (Transnistrian) segment of the frontier, including more issues dealing with the free movement of residents, goods and services.
The deputy prime minister appreciated the solid contribution and support of the EUBAM Mission for the management and improvement of the Moldovan-Ukrainian border.
