Chinese embassy makes new donation of books to National Library for Children

Chisinau, 17 June /MOLDPRES/ - A culture action organized in cooperation with the Embassy of China in Moldova took place at the branch of the Ion Creanga National Library for Children. The event was held on the occasion of the Embassy providing a new donation of books to this library.
The donation represents about 400 copies of books, 50 book titles in English, Chinese and Russian, containing information about the history, geography, culture and traditions of China.
In his speech, First Secretary of the Chinese Embassy in Moldova Zhang Yanjun said that he was participating in a ceremony of handing over a book donation to this library for the second time already.
“Children and young people represent the hope of the state. I hope that they will contribute to the development and flourishing of Moldova. China is a country with a civilization of more than five millenniums, with a traditional profound culture, which enjoys popularity all over the world. For you to better know China, we have rigorously selected about 400 books, which we gave the library as presents, from which you will learn more interesting things about our country,” the Chinese official noted.
For their part, the director of the Chisinau municipality’s education, youth and sport general department, Tatiana Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb, and the deputy director of the Ion Creanga National Library for Children, Lilia Tcaci, offered sincere thanks to the Chinese guests for this valuable donation, that will help them better know China.
In continuation, children from Chisinau-based schools participated in interactive games. Also, children listened to impressions by journalist Irina Ropot, who visited China. In the end, they were served with sweets offered by the Chinese embassy.
