Moldovan teachers' wage to increase by 8.6 per cent

Chisinau, 22 June /MOLDPRES/- The government today approved a draft law on amending the legislation in force on the remuneration system in the budgetary sector, according to which the wage of teachers will increase by 8.6 per cent starting from 1 September 2016, the government's communication and media relations department has reported.

The amendment is applied in line with the salary review procedure of teachers, which is carried out yearly on 1 September. Adjustment is made with increasing in average wage for national economy for the reporting year against the average wage of teachers in the fourth quarter of 2015. Thus, the estimated average salary is 5,050 lei for 2016, and the average wage of teachers in the fourth quarter of 2015 amounted to 4,650 lei.

The draft costs 85 million lei for 2016.
