More central Moldova settlements flooded following today heavy rains

Chisinau, 24 June /MOLDPRES/ - Sixteen yards from the central Straseni district and another 20 from the Hincesti district today were flooded and rescuers intervened to pump the water. The press officer of the Civilian Protection and Emergency Situation Service (SPCSE), Diana Turcanu, has confirmed the information for MOLDPRES.  

“The rains flooded more households, including the basement of the prosecutor’s office from the Straseni district, as well as settlements from the Hincesti district. Twenty firemen were mobilized for each of the two cases, with more units and intervention machines. Presently, they pump the water accumulated, as people fail to do this independently. No other significant damages have been recorded; yet, SPCSE will further monitor the situation,” Turcanu added.

Data by the State Hydrometeorological Service shows that no essential precipitation is expected on the next days, and the highest air temperature will reach 32 Celsius degrees in southern Moldova.
