Director General of the Customs Service Vitalie Vrabie made statements to this effect at a summing-up meeting of SV's Certification Commission.
According to a press release by the Customs Service, the final decisions by the Certification Commission were adopted after examining eligibility criteria set out in the statement of attestation, such as compliance with the requirements for the exercised office, observing the labour discipline, as well as the performance achieved within the interview.
“The results of trhe concerned procedure revealed some employees’ insufficient education, caused by a superficial knowledge of the customs legislation and normative acts, as well as a low level of professional competence in exercising the job duties,” informed the cited source.
After verification, the Commission proposed to consider possibility of stimulating customs officers who proved high professional skills.
“Customs officials' attestation is one of the most significant reform elements, through which we are set to enhance employees’ professionalism and integrity, thus ensuring optimisation of the work of the entire customs system,'' noted Vrabie.
The outcomes of the attestation per system will be known after August 18, when all subordinated structures are to sum up their work.
The employees of the Customs Service's Central Apparatus were checked on 13-23 June, this year.
