Ministry of Foreign Affairs opens hotline on explosions at Istanbul Ataturk Airport

Chisinau, June 29 /MOLDPRES/ - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MAEIE) has established a hotline telephone in connection with two suicide bomb attacks preceded by gun shootings in the departures area of the Istanbul-based International Airport Ataturk late on 28 June, the MAEIE information and media communication service has reported.
“To facilitate communication with Moldovan citizens who could have been at the Istanbul Airport and might need help of the Moldovan authorities, a hotline was set at the phone number +905350254276 within the Consulate," reads a press release.
Preliminarily, the Turkish authorities report at least 28 dead and 60 injured.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Moldova and General Consulate in Istanbul take efforts to establish, in cooperation with the Turkish authorities, whether there are Moldovan citizens among the victims, in order to provide them with the necessary assistance.
The Ministry will later provide details on the situation in Istanbul.
