PM Pavel Filip: We firmly condemn terror, we are with Ankara authorities

Chisinau, 29 June /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip, in the beginning of the today’s cabinet meeting, expressed condolences and deep regret about the terror attacks which occurred at the Istanbul-based Ataturk International Airport on 28 June evening, in the wake of which numerous people were killed, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
“Dear colleagues, unfortunately, we live in troubled times and so, more and more often we have to take note, with sadness, of losses of human lives. These are fully absurd and revolting situations. I mean, of course, the Istanbul attack. On behalf of the government and all Moldovan citizens, we firmly condemn the terror, convey condolences to the families of the victims and a thought of encouraging to those who suffered in the wake of the attack. We are with the Ankara authorities and united with them in this difficult ordeal,” Prime Minister Pavel Filip said.
Also, the PM informed that he had given instructions to the Foreign and European Integration Ministry to constantly keep in touch with the Moldovan citizens from Turkey and provide them with every support to return home or continue the travel.
According to Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Andrei Galbur, no Moldovans have been reported among the dead. At the same time, four calls were registered on a hotline set, which regarded 12 Moldovans from the Istanbul airport, to whom the needed assistance was provided.
We remind that 43 people were killed and another several hundreds were injured in a terror attack which took place at the Ataturk Airport late on 28 June.
