Moldovan medical institutions's employees to be paid in line with new mechanism starting from 1 July

Chisinau, 29 June /MOLDPRES/ - Employees of the public medical and sanitary institutions will be paid salaries according to a new mechanism, due to enforced starting from 1 July 2016, under a draft decision approved by the government today.
Health Minister Ruxanda Glavan has said the document provided for the change of the notion of tariff salary into the office salary. “The distribution of the increase in payments inside the sector will take place in conformity with the position held, plus the performance. Besides the salary, each medical employee will benefit from payments worth at least 15 per cent of the basic wage, depending on the performance indexes. At the same time, the supplement may increase up to 100-200 per cent of the salary, depending on the financial resources identified by the head of the medical institution,” Glavan noted.
The official also said the draft’s goal was to motivate young people, who had finished their education, to remain and get employed in Moldova. “In this respect, the full salary increase in the medical institutions is forecast at about 300 million lei for this year. The biggest increase will be recorded among young specialists with a length of service up to ten years. In terms of percentage, the wages will be doubled for 80 per cent of them. The increase will be lower for the specialists with a length of service of more than 20 years, and will stand at about 20 per cent on average in the system,” Glavan added.
