Moldova energy regulatory agency changes ceiling retail selling prices for petrol, diesel, liquefied gas

Chisinau, June 29 /MOLDPRES/ - The National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) has fixed lower strike retail sale prices, period 29 June to 12 July 2016, for petrol and diesel and higher prices for liquefied gas. 

Thus, according to ANRE data, the strike retail price for petrol with a minimum octane rating 95 is reduced from 16.25 lei/liter to 16.11 lei/litre (0.14 lei) and diesel from 14.35 lei/litre up to 14.00 lei/litre (-0.35 lei). Thus, the strike retail price for liquefied gas increases from 7.29 lei/litre to 7.51 lei/litre.

Strike values of these prices ​​ are set by ANRE according to new methodology on formation and application of prices of petroleum products, approved under the new clauses of Law no. 461-XV from 30.07.2001 on oil products market, as amended by Law No 223 from 12/03/2015. Under the law, ANRE sets the ceiling retail sale prices for fuels every 14 calendar days and market operators have no right to sell these products at higher prices than the strike retail prices set by ANRE. 

The strike retail prices are calculated by ANRE based on a formula that includes the average recent two weeks Platts quotations for petrol and diesel, stock average Argus for liquefied gas, cost of trading under the operation of petroleum products import, rate of excise duty and VAT, applied in accordance with the Tax Code of Moldova and specific commercial margin giving the value of oil companies costs incurred and profits. Under its ruling, ANRE established for petrol and diesel, a marketing margin of 3.16 lei/litre for petrol and diesel and 2.99 lei/litre for liquefied gas.

ANRE has established the fuel strike retail prices starting from 31 May 2016.
