Moldovan government increases allowances for certain categories of beneficiaries

Chisinau, July 1 /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet of ministers today morning held a meeting to approve a Notice on amendments, put up by a group of MPs, to the state social insurance budget draft law for 2016, the government's communication and media relations department has reported.   

The government-backed amendments provide for the establishment, starting from 1 July, of a monthly state allowance to some categories of people who worked in education institutions from the left bank of Dniester and in Bender city, subordinated to the Moldovan Education Ministry and a twofold increase of the monthly nominal state allowances for:

- persons awarded with honorary titles and the ones decorated with medals; 

- Persons awarded with orders, except for those decorated with "Ordinul Republicii"(Order of the Republic), "Ştefan cel Mare" (Stephan the Great) and "Slava Muncii" (Labour Glory), classes I, II and III and persons holding the title of Erou al Muncii Socialiste (Hero of Socialist Labour); 

- persons awarded with honorary titles and those decorated with medals and orders. 

Also, the government approved the increase, beginning with 1 August 2016, of the monthly allowance for child care until the age of 1.5 years, provided to uninsured persons, up to 540 lei, and the minimum amount of the concerned allowance to insured persons till the age of 3 years up to 540 lei. The allowance cost increase amount for the first category of beneficiaries is about 14.7 million lei, while for the second category – 3.3 million lei. Needed financial resources have been identified through redistribution within the sub-programme “Family and child protection”. 

The Notice is to be submitted to Parliament for consideration during the adoption of the draft of state social insurances budget for 2016.
