Moldova's delegation participates in annual session of OSCE Parliamentary Assembly

Chisinau, 1 July /MOLDPRES/ - A parliament delegation participates in the annual session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, held in Tbilisi, Georgia, on 1-5 July. The delegation is made up of MPs Sergiu Sirbu, Ion Casian and Anatolie Gorila, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
Under the agenda, during the session, three OSCE committees - the Committee on Democracy, Human Rights and Humanitarian Questions, Committee on Political Affairs and Security, Committee on Economic Affairs, Science, Technology and Environment – will hold meetings. Also the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly’s Standing Committee will have a meeting and the OSCE PA will hold a plenary meeting.
Among the subjects discussed by the lawmakers, there will be the Ukraine crisis, long-lasting conflicts in Georgia, observance of human rights in Crimea, fighting terrorism and corruption, refugees’ rights, climate changes, opening of labour markets in OSCE countries for migrants, efforts to prevent and combat children’s sexual exploitation, etc. Participants in the Tbilisi meeting are going to discuss and adopt the OSCE PA Resolution on Moldova.
More officials will address the participants in the meeting, among whom Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili, Georgian Parliament Speaker David Usupashvili, Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili, OSCE Parliamentary Assembly President Ilkka Kanerva, other officials.
In the end of the session, the MPs will adopt the Tbilisi Declaration, which will contain a string of recommendations of the Parliamentary Assembly for the OSCE member states, in such fields as political affairs, economy, environment and human rights.
The 25th annual session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly titled, 25 Years of Parliamentary Co-operation: Building Trust Through Dialogue, brings together about 300 parliamentarians from over 50 countries.
